Sotto files resolution congratulating Yuka Saso for legendary golf championship win

Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III filed Senate Resolution 748, commending Yuko Saso for winning the US Women's Open.
"[Yuka Saso] has absolutely given joy, pride, honor, and inspiration to the country and Filipino people."
Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III not only congratulated Yuko Saso, 19-year old golf champion but also filed Senate Resolution 743 to commend and congratulate her for her legendary win at the 2021 US Women's Open on June 6.
One of the oldest golf championships by the United States Golf Association, and the Ladies Professional Golf Association, the US Women's Open is considered a highly prestigious event, which no Filipino has ever championed.
Yuka Saso, born Filipino-Japanese, made history when she won against Japanese Nasa Hataoka. Saso is the first Filipino to win the tournament and engrave her name on the Harton S. Semple Trophy.
Nothing new for Saso
Saso has already made history for the Philippines when she won both individual and team gold in the 2018 Asian Games. Her recent win, however, puts the Philippines on the international stage of golf, which is mostly participated by Westerners.
The explanatory note read, "[Yuka Saso] has absolutely given joy, pride, honor, and inspiration to the country and Filipino people."
