Sotto orders transfer of Pharmally execs to Pasay jail From Manila Times by Bernadette E. Tamayo

SENATE President Vicente "Tito" Sotto 3rd has ordered the transfer of two Pharmally Pharmaceutical Company executives to Pasay City jail on Monday, November 29.

Sotto granted the request of the Senate blue ribbon committee to transfer Mohit Dargani and Linconn Ong for their alleged refusal to cooperate with the probe on the overpriced medical supplies.

The Office of Senate Sergeant-at-Arms (OSAA) earlier recommended the duo's transfer for refusing to turn over financial documents needed in the probe on overpriced medical supplies.

OSAA chief Rene Samonte recommended to Sen. Richard "Dick" Gordon the transfer to of Dargani and Ong.

Gordon, chairman of the Senate blue ribbon committee, conducted 15 virtual hearings on the involvement of Pharmally Pharmaceutical Company in supplying overpriced face masks and face shields to public healthcare workers.

Samonte on Saturday updated Gordon about his team's effort to assist Dargani and Ong "in locating and retrieving the boxes of documents the Senate blue ribbon has ordered to be submitted to their custody."

He said that his team was not able to retrieve the boxes of documents as promised by Dargani to the Senate because the latter said he cannot remember where these were being kept.

Pharmally won over P8 billion worth of contracts to provide medical supplies despite having only P625,000 in paid-up capital.
